Whiskey Fest and other events

So I finally have some time to post about the last month. March sucks for me, with all the birthdays and parties for those birthdays and all of the presents to buy. Plus throw in a bunch of wedding planning, its a wonder I didn't lose my mind. Or the Queen lose hers. Anyway to big events occurred last week that helped matters out: one was Whisky Fest and the other was the Queen's Bridal shower.

Whisky Fest was on March 30, and was attended by a few of you out there. I brought sister #3 to the event (the non-married one). Also present was B&T, Fatass Underground, Pookie, and Kindra. #3 sis is a bourbon person so we hit those tables first. Namely: Knob Creek, Booker's, Baker's, Bulleit, Basil Hayden's, Elijah Craig, Old Pogue, Old Forester's Birthday Bourbon, Maker's Mark, and Eagle Rare Single Barrel. We also went to a seminar about the debate between bourbon and scotch featuring Fred Booker Noe, Great-grandson of Jim Beam, and Richard Patterson, master distiller of Dalmore Single Malt Scotch. Truly an amusing event that is hard to describe in a few lines. Afterwards #3 sis laid off the samples which allowed me to try some scotch namely: Glenfiddich 30yr XXX, Bushmills 21yr, Compass Box Peat Monster, Isle of Jura 16yr, Johnnie Walker Green Label, Highland Park 15yr; 18yr; Single Cask 34yr, Laphroaig 10yr & Quarter Cask, The Macallan Cask Strength, Dalmore 12yr; 21yr and a final top off at the end of the night of Cigar Malt. I found Richard Patterson at the end of the night and he told me it was bad luck to leave the bottle with some liquid in it and my glass empty, so he solved both problems for me.

Then on Saturday as many people were experiencing the Linda Blair Flu we had a bridal shower at Gaelic Park. Anyone interested in details ask the Queen for them, I was in the bar with the Queen's Father.

Now onto the next set of tasks to prepare for the wedding.

That is the proper place for men at bridal showers. Because it's just awkward for everyone if you're there. It seems like it's against the natural order of things somehow.
